Your sisters here.
What’s a normal week for us like? Probably pretty NOT normal considering every week is a different shenanigan or adventure.
And following the theme of this blog… we decided to ramble about our life and attempt to entertain you. Ya know, sometimes we educate… but the majority of the time we word vomit with stories from our time in La La Land.
So here we go- Weekly Update #1
Alex here. I’ll start and let Morgan give you her weekly recap last, as I’m 99.9% positive her life is more interesting than mine.
On Thursday, I got invited to an event at The Grove in LA thrown by a bunch of different brands such as FabFitFun, Charlotte Tilbury, Nordstrom, etc. It was honestly one of the coolest events I’ve been to, (shoutout to our friend Courtney!), and the ironic part is that it was pouring rain and I wasn’t super hyped for it beforehand. (Thunderstorms in LA are a rare thing and an instant buzzkill to those who aren’t from here).
Oh sweet, sweet child. How naive I was.
I didn’t exactly put too much effort into my appearance or outfit and in typical Alex fashion, just rolled up like “where’s the free booze?”
Once I got into the tent that housed all the vendors, I quickly realized it was a lot cooler and fancier than I was originally anticipating. Oops. There were all sorts of vendors lined up giving away gift bags to influencers and a ton of food. Like a toooooon of food. (It was great because I forgot to eat dinner beforehand. My stomach was happy. Plus Sprinkles cupcakes were there so I basically just at a giant dinner of cupcakes and alcohol. Winning).
Once we got in and picked up some swag, I made a beeline to the bartender to get my champagne that was decked out with rose petals. (How LA, right). Once I chugged my champagne like the wild child from Texas that I am in front of the modelesque boy bartenders who stared at me in disbelief, I turned my head and realized Miranda Kerr was standing right beside me. Casual. I then decided to chug 2 more glasses of wine and ask her for a selfie.
LIQUID COURAGE FOLKS.
Guys, nobody can possibly look good in a selfie with Miranda Kerr and that is okay. She is SO nice and kind that it’s kind of hard to hate her and you walk away wondering how someone can be that genuine and beautiful. Life isn’t fair!!! Honestly, the highlight of my life was her posting a video of me and her on her Instagram story.
That’s it. I’ve peaked in life. It’s all downhill from here.
Here’s one many selfies we took:
The rest of my night was spent getting tipsy with some friends at the event and throwing darts at balloons for jewelry. And progressively getting worse and worse at darts as the night went on.
Honestly, that was the one cool thing I did for the week. The rest of my week was spent going to work, placing Amazon Prime orders for cat food and hitting snooze on my alarm five times before begrudgingly rolling out of bed. Life, man.
‘SUP PLAYAS. Morgan Leigh Willett here to tell you all about my week.
Here is a photo of me in a bowl of cereal to start.
I’m doing this post mainly because I use this blog as an outlet to talk about my feelings and I am too cheap and lazy to find a therapist to talk to.
With Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner – AKA a bunch of events where I am going to be covered head to toe in sequins and I want to look/feel my best – I decided to hit the ground running and jump back into my fitness routine.
I’m gonna go ahead and say that I am a complete psycho when it comes to working out. I need to workout daily or else I’ll lose my mind, and recently, exercise hasn’t been happening.
Too many Friendsgivings, too many happy hours, too many Christmas movie Netflix sessions… ya feel me?
So this week I signed up for a membership at Gold’s gym *HELLO ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL BODYBUILDERS, I SEE Y’ALL* and begrudgingly drug myself there every day.
P.S. – yes, I will be posting more workout routines on the blog. New Years Resolution here I come!
Life is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and that was my goal this week. I normally stick to what I know (which is SoulCycle and Barry’s Bootcamp #basicbetch) but I figured why not switch it up and try a new gym? Why not take a dance class in stilettos as a workout?
Aha, a transition to my next story.
I was invited by a girlfriend to take a dance class with StrutLA on Thursday. I mean, I cheered at The University of Texas so trust me, I can count to 8 and flip my hair real well. But the kicker with this class… it’s a hip-hop class. In high heels.
HAAAAA. Y’all really think this booty can twerk? In four inch heels?
I decided to say whateva and take the class despite my anxiety with my lack of ability to move my butt up and down. I show up and the instructor immediately cracks open four bottles of Moscato to get the dance party warmed up. My kind of dance instructor. You better believe I was the first person to teeter-totter over in my heels to fill up my solo cup to the BRIM.
Mama doesn’t mess around with liquid courage, y’all.
Strut class got started with the infamous Tiffany teaching it (hayyyy girl) and I was actually surprised at how these old cheerleading bones could still move. Give or take…. I looked straight from ‘Bring It On’ while everyone else looked straight from ‘Step Up’ while busting out the moves. GO. TEAM. GO. Whatever, I was still trying.
By the end of the dance routine, I was dripping sweat, was covered in bruises from rolling on the ground but LIVING MY BEST LIFE. I am now contemplating trying out for an NFL dance team.
Take it easy, Morgan.
Speaking of living my best life… one of the best parts about my life in LA is the fact that there is ALWAYS an event or pop up or party to check out. It’s like this city never sleeps or something.
I was invited to come and check out an Instagrammable pop up/selfie museum called Fun Box.
I’ll say this once and I’ll say it again… Betches. Love. Selfies. Duh, I was going to go.
I won’t go on and on about the different rooms and where to take pictures… Just take a peek and be sure to check it out if you are ever in Thousand Oaks, California.
A bunch of other really random stuff happened in my week that I won’t bore you with. Like when I met up for drinks with someone that I thought was totally a friend and it ended up completely not what I expected and awkward and I need to go drink more wine even thinking about it. I hope he isn’t reading this….. Anyhoo, I’ll save those stories for a rainy day, friends.
I ended my week with another event I went to with some of my beautiful and delightful ‘Ex On The Beach’ castmates.
Did I mention I was on another reality show? Yeah, that’s a new thing. Wasssssup MTV!
It was a fitness event called Heroes In The Sky put on by Luminhero in honor to kick off the December holiday season. It’s like they were trying to tell us we are about to gorge ourselves on Christmas cocktails and need to start burning them off now.
Somehow my whole week has revolved around fitness? Life is telling me something.
But basically, the workout took place… 70 floors in the sky in the badass Skyspace Los Angeles building. If you’re ever in Los Angeles, go check it out. They have a slide.
I won’t go into details about the event, workout, photo ops and food (FOOOOD). But just know it was so good to see my fellow cast members! After being trapped in a house together for weeks on weeks, dealing with drama and a bunch of exes… we got reaaaaal close. Like real close.
I’ll end with this… the whole workout involved Corey taking selfies on his phone the whole ab series, Jay and Cheyenne wrestling each other during the yoga series while we were all supposed to be finding our “zen” and me laughing like an idiot the whole entire time. Sorry to all the fitness fans that we disturbed around us.
Put a bunch of reality TV people in a room and this is bound to happen.
SO YEAH. If you’re still reading… this was my week in a nutshell. Fitness, friends, pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
Let’s see what next week brings for us….
