So I’m going to be quite honest. I do not take care of my skin. Woah. I know, we didn’t see that one comin’.
Up until a week or so ago, I only used face wash I got from CVS …and was told by a certain someone that it smells like cat pee… cool, so happy I am using that on my face. I’ve always had clear skin (please don’t hate me) and I never really thought about taking care of my face NOW so it will look good LATER.
Hello, I’m trying to look like JLo when I get old. Not a wrinkled leather handbag.
So I asked a question on my Instagram page about the best skincare brands and was BOMBARDED with people telling me to try Drunk Elephant.
I got the whole shebang from Drunk Elephant and after sampling all the products (there was at least 12) for a couple of weeks I wanted to share my favs. Seriously, these are amazing and I highly recommend adding them to your “Must Have” skincare routine.
Ya know why I like this? Because I don’t feel like I am taking off 18 layers of my skin with chemicals. It’s super light, doesn’t smell too strongly and works surprisingly well at removing all traces of makeup. EVEN THE WATERPROOF MASCARA THAT IS THE DEVIL ITSELF.
I am the worst at using harsh acne scrubs too take off my makeup because I am too lazy to use wipes and too lazy to find another face wash. This has become my new BFF. Plus, it’s only 32 bucks and quite affordable compared to their other products.
If you are in need of a good moisturizer- this will become your new best friend. I don’t have acne so I find some of the other products with glycolic acid (what even is that?!) and other harsher chemicals. I use it right after I wash my face in the morning and before I put on my makeup- have no fear… it dries super quickly.
I don’t know what magical ingredients are in this little baby… but it is a Godsend. It’s got a blend of 25 percent exfoliating acids to get off any dead skin cells clogging the surface of your face. I put it on the night before (warning: it does tingle a bit) and woke up the next morning with the softest skin I have everrrr felt. My skin was brighter, smoother and almost glowing? I totally get the hype now & I would totally splurge on this one.
After washing my face at night, I used this as the last step before going to bed. You know how a lot of oils make you feel like your face is soaked in like, bacon grease? (Bad analogy, sorry I am hungry). This facial oil is the opposite! Obviously a little goes a long way, but I felt like it wasn’t weighing my skin down and I woke up with moisturized, fresh skin and no greasy residue. It’s also supposed to reduce redness… talk about a win, win.
ALRIGHTAY. To conclude… Those are my favorites thus far from Drunk Elephant and while they are a little pricey, I think these four are worth it. Gotta protect the money maker, right?
I’ll keep you guys posted on any other skin goodies I come across and until next time…
