Hello, World!
(It’s an ode to all the computer programmers out there, okay. Nobody else will get this).
My name is Alex and I’m the older sister of the Willett sister duo. Insert semi-witty joke about how Morgan is taller than me and looks older than me here. Trust me, I get it all the time.
I am the…
- Anti-color/neutral wearing
- Taco Bell loving
- Curious
- Harry Potter obsessed
- Creative, quirky and artistic
- Cat momager-ing
…Willett sister.
I’m 27 years old and from a super small town in Texas called Granbury! The town has some wonderful people and a once-very-dried-up-lake that is now thriving. There’s also a ton of old people there too and a movie theater that barely gets movies but that’s a story for another day.
I currently live in Los Angeles, CA. It’s funny because I always knew I didn’t want to live in Texas. (Don’t get me wrong, I like Texas but I never felt that strong Texas pride that most people feel). However, I never knew if I’d be bold enough to take the plunge, leave my family and friends behind and go try to make it out here.
Luckily, a little show called Big Brother came callin’ and really shook up my world. It taught me to put myself out there and not care what anyone thinks of me. (I should probably mention that I’m also a Big Brother super, super, super fan and being on that show was a total dream come true for me). Once getting off of that show, I realized how much I truly loved it out here and decided to commit myself to taking the risk. It’s been the best decision of my life so far! Every day, I wake up grateful to be here, grateful for a job to make ends meet and grateful to be surrounded by such beautiful weather and nature.
As stated, I grew up in Granbury, TX. It’s funny because I remember growing up with a tiny Walmart, very few restaurants, (one of these being a Taco Bell), and having to drive 45 minutes to get to a big town with things. I was a competitive gymnast for most of my life in Granbury and that sport was my true love. I ended up going to Texas A&M University with the intent of being a doctor (LOL), but I quickly realized blood grossed me out so….ya.
I ended up switching to a tiny major in the Architecture department of A&M called Visualization. This was a major that combined computer animation, game design, graphic design, physics, calculus, art, etc. I loved it. I got to nerd out, make cool art and challenge myself. I also met some of my very best friends in that major. Shoutout to the Viz fam!
After college, I ended up moving to Dallas for a couple of years for my job and also lived in Houston for a bit before making the transition to the West Coast, Best Coast life. Texas is cool but the humidity life is NOT FOR ME. Good hair days are very important to me, okay. Now here I am! Living in Cali. Making a blog with my sister whom I used to not get along with and now kind of get along with. It’ll be an adventure.
Thanks for visiting this page and taking the time to read all of this! You’re awesome. You rock. You’re wonderful. Your spirit Pokemon is absolutely not a Magikarp and absolutely is something cool like a Gengar or Zapdos. Okay, I’ll stop now.
